I’ve just uploaded a new video to my YouTube channel, filmed during Rhondda Cynon Taff’s 90s Summer Party, because apparently hearing a familiar dance track from the 1990s is all it takes for thousands of adults to collectively forget what their knees are capable of.

The video captures Whigfield performing the absolute classic, Saturday Night. And honestly? She completely owned it. The crowd was singing, dancing and doing that particular move with the confidence of people who had clearly practised it in their bedrooms approximately three decades ago.

Now, a small production disclaimer: this was filmed on my phone, from within the crowd, while attempting to enjoy the event and keep the camera pointing in roughly the correct direction. So, if the footage occasionally has the gentle movement of a documentary filmed aboard a small fishing boat, that is simply the authentic live-music experience.

I wasn’t there on a professional shoot; I was there as a fellow member of the audience, soaking up the nostalgia and trying not to get swept away by the choreography. Still, I wanted to capture a little piece of the atmosphere and share it with you.
